A few weeks ago I spotted a lovely manicure on instagram and I wish I can remember who had created it. It was produced using a Disney Stamping Plate from BBF so I immediately went mooching to find out more. Until then I hadn’t heard of BBF but I quickly found the website and immediately fell in love with the plates. In fact I had to reign in my spending and chose my 10 most favourite plates that I thought would be great for nail art tutorials and that my clients would want in my salon. When they arrived promptly I thought it was a perfect opportunity to give you a BBF Stamping Plate Review.
I’ve always loved creating detailed hand painted nail art, but it’s time consuming, requires a level of artistic skill and equipment, and there are limitations with your creations. I love to teach and inspire others, and stamping is a fantastic and easy way to do nail art as once you get to grips with a few techniques, it’s so easy to create amazing designs. When I placed my BBF order, I chose a number of Disney Princess stamping plates, as well as Simpsons, Hello Kitty, Halloween, Christmas/Festive and London themed image plates. When they arrived I was a little concerned that the images didn’t seem very well etched, but I was really pleasantly surprised when I reviewed them.

BBF Stamping Plate Review
On first impressions the plates were small and very pretty with lovely images but appeared to be a little poorly etched. However, this is just the appearance of the plates as they are actually perfectly etched and the images pick up very well with all the detailing just using a standard black Dashica stamping polish and XL squishee stamper as long as you work quickly. I decided to select 4 random images from different plates to see how they all stamped.
The stamping polish easily spread into all of the etching and detailing on the stamping image.
As you can see the image picked up perfectly and clearly without any missing parts.
Even the images with a large amount of negative/polish space picked up evenly and with full detail.
BBF Stamping Plates Review Scoring
I was really pleased with the BBF Stamping Plates after I completed my BBF Stamping Plates review. In fact, I already want to increase my collection and they have proved very popular in my salon! Whilst all of the images that I tried stamped really clearly, you do need to work quickly to pick up the image. Perhaps they could benefit from being slightly more deeply etched, but it’s really not a huge issue. If you work quickly from scraping to applying your stamp they pick up perfectly.
